Magic and Message at Brainerd Library
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s and are settling into 2016. On January 2nd I kicked off the new year with a great event at the Brainerd Library in Connecticut. It was a dual-program: magic show and motivational speech.
Our attendance was huge, and I was told later that we broke the library’s attendance record for an event. Children as young as 3 and adults as old as 80 came to the first half for the family friendly magic show. It was an enthusiastic crowd and everyone got actively involved.
The youngest children were then sent off to a special activity in a different part of the library, while the teens and adults stayed for the second half of the program.
In the second half, I talked with the audience about how to make better, more meaningful connections with the people in their lives. We learned active listening techniques, and spent time talking about the value of getting outside of one’s comfort zone, and how to do it.
I was very honored that after nearly 2 hours of magic and message, many families stayed even longer to talk to me personally and ask questions. It was truly a great afternoon, and I look forward to doing it again sometime.
Be well, stay safe, and I wish you all a very wonderful 2016. We’ll be in touch.
With love, Brian
