Six or Nine? Perspectives & Understanding

Posted by on September 27, 2016

I came upon this meme on Facebook recently:

Six or nine meme

It got me thinking about the nature of perspectives and how we navigate between our personal worldview and those of other people, who often have a wildly different set of experiences to our own.

While there is often a gap to bridge between our personal perspective and those of other people, there are also things we can do to make the gap smaller and less treacherous.

I modified the image to illustrate one of the ways in which we can reduce the gap, by striving for clarity in the things we say and mean.

Conficious (‘pronounced very like ‘confuse-us’) didn’t get those first four letters of his name by accident! Communication and the lucid clarification of every element contained therein is at the heart of everything – good, bad and everything inbetween! Your meme-interpretation and expansion shows an inquisitive and creative mind… you’re not a magician are you… by any chance?

Thanks Jon, and I couldn’t agree more! Confucius was a wise man.
